Now is the harvesting season. And many people ask me how I sterilize jars. I do not have special devices for sterilization, so I use other methods)) Before sterilization, the jars must be washed well. I wash with soda. Then I rinse it under running water.

Method one - steam sterilization

I pour water into the pan, put it on the fire, bring it to a boil. I set the grid on top, and the banks on it. I boil for 10-15 minutes.

The second method is in a pot of water

Very handy for sterilizing small cans. I put the jars in cold water and put the pan on the fire, cover with a lid, bring to a boil and let it boil for 2-3 minutes.

Method three - in the oven

I use this method most often. I put the cans in a cold oven. I set it to 150 degrees. I "fry" the cans for 15-20 minutes. Then I turn off the oven and do not open it for another 15 minutes. But more often I leave the jars in the oven until they cool completely.

The fourth way is the microwave

This is if you need it very urgently)) I pour a little water into each jar and put it in the microwave. I expose 3 minutes and maximum power. I pour out the remaining water and... done!

The fifth method is sterilization with vinegar

This method was suggested to me in the comments. Now I do it too))

I pour 2 tablespoons into the jar. vinegar. Cover with a lid and shake well so that the vinegar hits all the walls of the jar. Then I pour the vinegar into another jar and do the same, etc.

How do you sterilize cans? And do you sterilize at all? I always do this. My grandmother also said that "it will not be superfluous" and that "it will not work out so well." But now many people write to me that sterilizing is "stupid" and that it is "a waste of time." Write what you think? Your opinion is very interesting!
