Mussels stewed in tomato sauce with white wine

Today we will cook mussels. Sometimes I bake them with cheese, but recently I tried them in tomato sauce and fell in love with this dish right away.

As usual. Everything is prepared quickly, and the taste is simply amazing.

To prepare mussels, we need:

  • Mussels in the valves -05 kg.
  • Tomatoes in their own juice -0.5 l.
  • Onions - 1 pc
  • Garlic - 5 cloves.
  • Dry white wine -100 ml.

Finely chop the onion and garlic.

Fry in olive oil, but do not bring it to a golden color, but simply simmer.

Add tomatoes in their own juice to the mixture of onions and garlic (if you have juicy tomatoes, you can grate 3-4 large tomatoes) and simmer the contents of the pan for several minutes.

Now you need to add the spices. I limit myself only to salt and pepper, but then the choice is yours. If you like a spicy taste, add chilli or other seasonings.

We add wine. After a few minutes, the alcohol will evaporate, but the spicy notes will remain.

I took the mussels (cooked-frozen) out of the freezer and allowed them to defrost for 1 hour at room temperature.

I add them to the skillet and carcasses in tomato sauce for a few minutes.

Of course, this dish should be cooked when “guests are on the doorstep”, so as not to reheat them later.

I put the mussels in deep bowls, pour the tomato-garlic sauce. I will definitely serve a baguette with it.

Cooking time 20 minutes. This dish looks very nice. Eats up in a few minutes.
