β πIn most families, main courses are prepared much more often than soups. Rice is the most popular cereal in the preparation of second courses.
Today I want to share with you a recipe for cooking delicious rice side dish.
My people at home eat this rice side dish even faster than the main course, because it turns out to be so appetizing, aromatic and tasty.
I have not boiled rice groats in a saucepan for a long time, but I cook this way - it turns out much tastier. And if you add different spices to the dish each time, then such a side dish will not get boring for a very long time.
For a change, instead of garlic, you can fry grated carrots and diced onions - it will turn out great too.
ANDIngredients for cooking rice in a pan:
Long grain rice - 1.5 cups
Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. l.
Garlic - 1-2 cloves
Salt - 1/2 tsp l.
Turmeric - 1/3 tsp l.
Paprika - 1 tsp l.
Provencal herbs - 0.5-1 tsp l.
Ground black pepper - 1-2 pinches
Hot water - 2 glasses
And now we start cooking ...
The first step is to thoroughly rinse the rice in cold running water. We carry out this procedure until the water becomes transparent.
A few words about cereals - it is better to use long grain rice as a side dish, parboiled rather than polished. Round grain, polished groats more suitable for cereals.
Next, pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, set to heat over medium heat. In the meantime, while the oil is heating, peel and cut into thin slices of garlic cloves. Put the garlic slices in hot oil and fry until light brown. Be careful not to overexpose the garlic on the fire - if you overcook it, the butter will be saturated with a bitter, burnt taste.
We remove the garlic, which gave its aroma and taste to the oil, from the pan, it is no longer needed. Fill in the washed rice.
Stir until the cereal is evenly covered and soaked in oil. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.
Now add salt and spices to taste. Turmeric is a must-have ingredient, it will give your garnish a beautiful golden color. The rest of the seasonings are optional. Mix everything thoroughly and give time for the spices to "open up" - for this, fry the rice for another 4-5 minutes over moderate heat.
Then pour in 2 cups of hot water (boiling water).

Reduce heat to minimum and cook without covering the pan with a lid. When the cereal absorbs all the liquid, then close the pan with a lid and cook for a few more minutes until it reaches the desired condition.
We serve ready-made rice as a side dish in addition to any meat, poultry, fish or vegetable dishes. It turns out very tasty and aromatic. Cook, taste, Bon appetit!
