✅ 👌Can you bake something tasty and satisfying when the refrigerator is already completely empty? Of course you can, if you have a few potatoes.

Today I will bring to your attention recipe for delicious cakesthat are prepared literally out of nothing. The main thing is that in your house there is a few potatoes and some greens.

When the refrigerator is already completely empty, but there are potatoes, I cook such cakes: fast, tasty and cheap

✨They can be prepared in minutes and serve as a snack, first or second courses.

I often cook such potato cakes when the eggs run out in the refrigerator and there is no kefir or sour cream. In fact, apart from boiled potatoes, flour, herbs and butter, nothing else should be added to the dough - it turns out very appetizing!

✨Of course, you can put fried mushrooms, onions, meat and other additives in mashed potatoes. But this is entirely optional... And if possible!

📕Ingredients for making potato tortillas: 🍲

Potatoes - 6-8 pcs. medium size
Fresh herbs (whatever you like) - 1 bunch
Wheat flour - 150-200 g (how much potato "dough" will take)
Salt, pepper - 1-2 pinches each (to taste)
Unscented sunflower oil - for frying cakes.

You can cook such cakes from the remains of yesterday's mashed potatoes or boil the potatoes just before making the cakes. If you boil potatoes separately for this dish, you will not need to add milk, butter, or eggs to the mashed potatoes. It turns out very economically.

So, peel the potatoes, rinse them, cut them into rather small cubes (like for soup) and cook until tender. If you have enough time left, you can boil the potatoes in their skins. This will make it drier, and you will need to add less flour to the tortillas. Ready, absolutely soft, potatoes, knead with a crush. We do not add any liquid or fat. Cool the puree to room temperature.

Now we take a bunch of your favorite greens - wash them, dry them, chop them finely and put them in mashed potatoes. I had cilantro and dill, you can use other types of greens to taste. We also season mashed potatoes with ground pepper, salt.

Mix the potato mixture thoroughly.

And add flour to it.

✨ Here's an important point: I can't say exactly how much flour you need. It depends on the wateriness of the potatoes and on the quality of the flour itself. Therefore, add 3-4 spoons at once, and then evaluate the consistency and, if necessary, add 1 more spoonful. Do not forget to sift flour before adding.

As soon as the dough is collected in a "single lump", you can mold the cakes.

We divide the entire amount of dough into 5-7 approximately equal pieces.

Roll each piece with a rolling pin or knead it with your fingers on a floured table into a round cake about 1.5-2 cm thick. If the mass sticks, sprinkle the workpiece with a small amount of flour.

Fry the formed tortillas in a pan with the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil, literally for a couple of minutes, so that a crispy crust is taken.

We serve tortillas right after cooking or when they cool down - they will taste good anyway. As an addition, you can offer sour cream or a sauce based on natural yogurt. Cook, taste, Bon appetit!
