How I cook brushwood on kefir: usually one bowl is not enough for us (verguns according to my grandmother's recipe)

There is nothing complicated. The dough always turns out. But, of course, you need to cook it in a good mood!

In a bowl, I mix the egg with salt and sugar. I do it with a whisk. I add kefir (room temperature) and soda. I stir it.

I add the sifted flour. Gradually. And knead the dough. It sticks slightly to your hands.

RECIPE:

Kefir - 300 ml
Egg - 1 pc.
Flour - 3 cups
Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Soda - 1 tsp
Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
Salt - a pinch

I leave the dough under the towel for half an hour. Then I transfer it to the board, knead it slightly and cut a piece from the dough.

I roll it out with a thickness of 6-7 mm, cut it into small rectangles, make a cut of about 1 cm in the middle of each rectangle:

Then I pass one edge through this incision and twist it. Like this:

I fry the verguns in oil. I usually use a small pan for this. So my oil takes much less. My 18 cm frying pan:

I fry the brushwood on both sides until a rosy appetizing color and put it on a paper towel.

I have had the frying pan in which I cook today for more than three years, but it still looks like new (I am very pleased with both the quality and the size):
