How to cook
For this recipe, I use crab sticks or crab meat. I also tried it with squid - it also turns out deliciously. And my husband liked this salad with canned fish.
But most often I use crab sticks.
I also buy a Hawaiian mix for this salad. This is rice with vegetables. Frozen. Moreover, the rice in this mixture is almost ready. It remains two to three minutes to bring to readiness.
What I am doing. I send the Hawaiian mixture into the salted boiling water (packaging - 400 g). And from the moment of boiling, I cook for 3 minutes. I do not defrost the mixture beforehand. During this time, both rice and vegetables are completely ready.
In addition to rice, the Hawaiian blend includes green peas, corn, and bell peppers. At the end of the article, I'll show you which mixture I buy the most. It is sold in almost every store. But, of course, you can take any mixture!
While the rice and vegetables are cooking, I chop the crab sticks and boiled eggs.
I remove the pan from the heat and drain the water (you can use a colander, which I usually do). The mixture must be cooled. In winter, this is no problem - I just put it on the balcony. And after a few minutes, you can collect the salad.
I dress with mayonnaise. I usually use mayonnaise, which I make myself. In the video below, there are some homemade mayonnaise recipes:
The salad is delicious! It tastes little different from the usual salad with crab sticks. But it’s just a lot easier to prepare.
