I cannot say that I do not like the smell of stewed cabbage - on the contrary, I love this smell, it is very appetizing for me. But only in the kitchen! I really do not like how it "smells" in other rooms when I stew or boil cabbage.
At the end of the article, I will leave a link to a video where, in addition to this, I showed two more stewed cabbage recipes and discovered 2 more secrets on how to get rid of the unpleasant cabbage smell. Take a look - you will like:
How to cook
I cut the cabbage into thin strips. Chop the onion finely, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
I fry the onion in a small amount of vegetable oil, then after a minute I add the carrots and, with constant stirring, fry for another 2-3 minutes.
Then I put the chopped cabbage into the pan. Salt the cabbage, add black pepper, mix and immediately add a little milk. You need so much milk that it just covers the bottom of the pan.
Carcass over low heat. No bad smell from cabbage! On the contrary - it smells very tasty! I put the lid on the pan. But you don't have to cover it - someone thinks that stewed cabbage is tastier this way. By the way, write in the comments how you cook stewed cabbage?
After 10 minutes, add bay leaves and herbs. I have parsley and dill today (from the freezer).
Stir again and simmer for a couple of minutes. Everything! You can try))
The cabbage is very tasty! It tastes like a casserole! Delicate creamy taste and incredible aroma!
I add such cabbage to pies and pies - it turns out much tastier than with cabbage, which is stewed in the classical way. And the cabbage in the pies remains light, does not darken!
Try this way. I am sure you will like it as much as I do!
