Do you often cook what you loved the most as a child? I’m not often, but sometimes I really want to feel the taste of childhood again and I cook my favorite cabbage pie. A very simple and probably familiar recipe for many, but why not remember it again ...
You need to start cooking, of course, with the filling.
- I cut one small onion into quarters into rings and send it to the pan along with a drop of oil. Onions do not need to be fried until golden brown, but only brought to transparency.
- Next, I send finely chopped cabbage to the onion and carcass (do not fry) until caramel color as in the photo, sometimes adding a little water to the pan.
The cabbage should cool completely, but for now you can start making the dough.
- Break three eggs into a bowl and add 250 ml of kefir to them. It will be good if it is not very fresh.
- I add half a teaspoon of salt and one tablespoon of sugar.
I add flour gradually, I need about 300 grams, the dough is
- consistency should turn out like sour cream. Last but not least, I add vinegar slaked soda.
I send most of the mold to the bottom of the baking dish. Gently spread the cabbage on top and distribute it evenly.
I spread the rest of the dough on the cabbage and also level it so that the cabbage is not visible.
Now I send it to an oven preheated to 170 degrees for 1 hour.
Then I let it cool well, but to be honest I never wait until the cake has completely cooled down, I like to eat it just slightly warm.

250 ml of kefir
300 gr flour
3 eggs
0.5 tsp tablespoons of salt
1 tbsp. spoonful of sugar
soda and vinegar
450-500 gr of cabbage
1 onion
