If you are already not feeling good about mayonnaise, but you need something or really want to fill up a salad or serve to fish, then such a simple and healthy sauce can definitely come in handy.
The prices for mayonnaise packs have now seriously increased, so there will be practically no difference in price when buying ingredients for the sauce according to this recipe.
But it has a lot more advantages! Even if in appearance it is not as attractive as mayonnaise, beloved by millions of Russians, it still comes out delicious.
So, we replace mayonnaise.
Ingredients:
- natural yoghurt (the fattest)
- fresh cucumber
- salt
- pepper
- dry spices (a mixture of hops-suneli, paprika, etc.)
- garlic powder or fresh garlic to taste and desire
- fried onions are also from taste preferences
How to cook:
1. Wash the cucumber, peel and grate. It can be large, but it is better on a small one.
2. Put enough yogurt in a bowl. Add grated cucumber, what spices you eat and want, salt, pepper and ground garlic (if needed).
3. Stir the sauce until smooth. Let it stand for a couple of minutes to absorb the aromas.
4. The finished sauce will be quite thick. It can be added to any salads. And even in "Olivier" or in the "Crab" salad it goes well. Only here, preferably without garlic. And do not add cucumbers to the salad itself.
Very interesting, and most importantly useful!
Advice:
- in this sauce, you can add, in addition or instead of cucumbers, chopped stalk or celery root, any greens, sun-dried finely chopped tomatoes, mustard powder, lemon zest and much more.
With such additives, a huge number of different variations of such yoghurt sauces are obtained, which are suitable not only for salad dressing, but also for fish, chicken or kebabs.
