Why is calorie counting one of the most effective, comfortable ways to lose weight?
Firstly, the calorie content of food is what directly affects our weight, helping to maintain it, lose weight, or vice versa, gain weight.
It is the reduction in the calorie content of the diet that lies at the heart of all diets and techniques. In another way, it simply does not work: if there is a calorie deficit - there will be a result, there is no calorie deficit - at least what kind of diet you follow - there will be no result. The need to reduce the caloric content of the diet in order to lose weight is confirmed by numerous studies.
If you have to lose weight from a very large weight, simple and familiar rules will work for you: refusal of fast food, sweets, pastries, fatty ones. By eliminating these foods, your diet will automatically be reduced in calories and the process of losing weight will go in full swing.
But, if you need to get rid of a small amount of extra pounds, or refuse of the above products, you have already significantly lost weight and the weight began to go very badly - without a clear count not enough. Well, or you will have to sit on a rigid, starving diet (if you do not want to count, weigh the food) to ensure a calorie deficit, and a rigid diet is not the best option.
Which path you choose depends on you and your priorities.
But in any case, one must remember that only with a calorie deficit does the process of losing weight start.
And by tradition, I'll show you my menu for the day you missed so much, it turns out, while I was on vacation. As always, ordinary foods, without any superfoods or absolute prohibitions.

You miss my skeet, and I miss my favorite fish. At breakfast I ate two sandwiches on bread (65 g) with curd cheese (30 g) and 65 g of cold smoked pink salmon. I drank green tea, which I never add sugar to.
Breakfast came out on 335 kcal.
The price of fish, of course, surprised me. For a kilogram of cold smoked pink salmon, they ask us 850 rubles! For some pink salmon! In another store, the same small pink salmon was called chum salmon and the price tag was set at 1200! It's just a mess.
It's good that we have joint purchases, where I can buy a chic Karelian trout for 700 rubles (for 1 kg) and salt it.
We had one cheesecake, lying lonely in the refrigerator, which no one was going to eat, and I decided that I would eat it for a snack.
Cheesecake 70 g, 15 g sour cream and 10 g homemade raspberry and black currant jam - 215 kcal
We missed homemade shawarma and today for dinner we wound up our favorite PP shawarma, in which there is a lot of tomato, Korean carrot, chicken breast, pickled cucumber and sauce: sour cream, tomato sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic.
Recently, I began to cut the filling like a salad, season with sauce and then twist the shawarma - it’s easier to calculate the calorie content. 75 g lavash and 300 g filling - 475 kcal.
For dinner, boiled potatoes (180 g) and fried in corn starch with spices for 10 g of vegetable oil pollock (150 g), as well as cucumber.
The calorie content of the dinner was 430 kcal.
We brought melons with us from Crimea - we have to eat, otherwise they will deteriorate, too ripe. I ate 250 g of melon 3 hours before bedtime - 85 kcal.
Result of the day: 1540. B - 111, F - 55, U - 158.
I try to establish a drinking regime, but it turns out badly, I confess to you. Apparently, you need to remember how I made friends with water at the beginning of my weight loss journey and put a reminder on my phone so that it would give a signal when it’s time to drink another glass of water.
