β π Bagels are delicious! With hot tea, cocoa or compote, my children eat them with great pleasure.
But today I want to tell you how I sometimes cook a completely different yummy from the donuts. I cook "lazy whites" out of them!
β¨ There are 2 fillings in them - mashed potatoes and juicy minced meat - and all this is covered with an appetizing cheese crust.
β¨And the main thing - no need to knead yeast dough, which takes a lot of precious time.
πTo prepare "lazy whites" you will need: π₯
Butter bagels (large bagels) - 10 pcs.
Minced meat - 400 g
Onions - 1 medium head
Potatoes - 3-4 pcs. (weighing approximately 300-350 g)
Vegetable oil - for frying onions
Salt, black pepper and other spices to taste
Hard or semi-hard cheese - 100 g
Butter - 30 g (if necessary)
Milk - 3-4 tbsp. l. (of necessity)

First of all, we put potatoes to boil, salt after boiling water. We are waiting for the potatoes to be cooked and remove them from the stove. We drain all the water.
While the potatoes are boiling, peel the onions and cut them into small cubes.
Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a frying pan and add the onion. Fry for several minutes, stirring occasionally with a spatula.
As soon as the onion becomes translucent and starts to turn golden, add the minced meat to it. I had a mixed mince, but you can take beef, pork or chicken - whichever you like best. Fry over medium heat until the meat turns gray. Most of the moisture should evaporate. At the end of cooking, salt, pepper and add your favorite spices to taste. Stir and remove the minced meat from the heat - let it cool down a little.
Mash boiled potatoes with mashed potatoes. If you come across dryish potatoes (like me), add a piece of butter and a little milk. The puree should not turn out to be liquid, but it should keep its shape well, not crumble. Let the potatoes cool slightly.
We put the bagels in a deep bowl and fill them with water (you can use milk, but there is no special sense in this). It is necessary that they become a little soft. This happens quickly, so be careful not to let the steering wheel sag.
Then place the soft bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper / silicone mat.
In the middle of each bagel we put 1-1.5 tbsp. l. mashed potatoes.
Put the fried minced meat on top.
And sprinkle with grated cheese on a coarse grater.
We put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with chopped herbs before serving. Belyashi are juicy, soft and very, very tasty. They can be served as a hearty snack or for lunch / dinner, accompanied by a vegetable salad.
