Bread with ham, cheese and fried onions (all at once!)

Why make life difficult for yourself by making a sandwich when bread - with ham, onions and cheese - can be baked? Moreover, all these goodies will not be on top, sprinkled and spread, but inside the loaf itself. No, no, not the filling, but right in the dough.

I must say right away that you should not expect much magic here. I thought it would be tastier. Therefore, there was a kind of... disappointment, if I may say so.

On the other hand, if you do not expect a full-fledged sandwich taste from bread (that is, without inflated expectations to treat him) - then you will not have to find fault, in fact it turns out quite nicely and unusual.

We take:

  • 500 grams of flour
  • Yeast - according to the instructions on the packaging of your yeast. I have already mentioned several times that I use dry saf moments (in a bag with a red pattern). A bag of this yeast is designed for 1 kg of flour, therefore, for 500 g - half a packet of yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 350 ml water
  • 100 gr of hard spicy cheese, grated on a coarse grater
  • 100 g diced ham
  • 50 g onions fried until crisp

How we cook:

In warm water we dilute sugar and a couple of tablespoons of the total amount of flour, add yeast and wait for the foam to appear.

As soon as the yeast is working, add the remaining flour, salt and knead the dough. Let it come up a couple of times in a warm place and, after the second approach, stir in the fillers - ham cut into cubes, grated cheese and fried onions.

You can mix everything in in advance, but, in my opinion, then the dough rises worse.

We form a loaf - or put the dough in a mold, let it rise and send it to the oven at 180-200 degrees for about 40-50 minutes.
