I will teach you how to choose the "right" green peas in the store so that your New Year's "Olivier" is the most delicious. Otherwise, you will not read my article, buy bad peas and the salad will not be so good.
So, have you ever had such a thing that you bought green peas, but they are not tasty: hard, dry, not whole peas? I have had this many times, because before I did not know how to choose it. But then one friend told me what to look for when buying.
I tell you right away: the price does not matter here. Little-known brands can also have good peas and be cheap. And vice versa: advertised manufacturers have a complete disappointment - tough, tasteless.
So: when you go to the store for green peas, pay attention to the inscriptions on the bank and what is written in the composition.
If you see what is written "from the brain sorts" - you can safely take it. This means that fresh young peas have been canned. It is the tastiest and most delicate, has a slightly sweet taste. Sometimes on the bank they can directly write "young peas". It's also good.
And if there are no such inscriptions on the packaging, then most likely there are frozen peas in the jar or dried peas that have been canned - they are tasteless, hard and dry. Or, on the contrary, it is too soft that the peas do not keep their shape and have already fallen apart in the jar.
If the jar is glass, then we look at the color: young green peas. And if the peas are pale or a yellowish tint is present - do not take it, it will be tasteless.
And of course, we look at the production date: young green peas can only be in summer. No other way.
Write in the comments how you choose green peas in the store: do you pay attention to the composition?
