American classic - potato salad with bacon
In the Russian version, you can use lard or salted brisket. Also for the salad you will need onions, which it is advisable to pickle, pickles and something for dressing.
So, do not boil large potatoes (young ones do not need to be peeled), cool slightly and cut into cubes or pieces.
In a dry frying pan, melt the fat from the salted lard, brisket or bacon. All by sight. Turn off the heat, add a teaspoon of French mustard and the same amount of apple cider vinegar to the fat. You do not need to salt, but pepper at will.
Combine diced potatoes and cucumbers, pickled onions and dressing in a bowl. Greens to taste. Serve immediately while warm.
Potato salad "Bavarian"
The second version of the salad follows from the first. If you add smoked sausages and a spoonful of yogurt or mayonnaise to the former, you get a German-style salad, which is often called "Bavarian Potato Salad".
Its variations are also different, sometimes it contains fresh tomatoes, canned beans and lettuce.
The main condition is that the potatoes should be at least half of the dish.
Potato salad "Norwegian"
We take the first salad as a basis, but instead of bacon or lard, a lightly salted herring.
Cucumbers can be replaced with a sweet and sour apple and a boiled egg can be added. Everything else is the same.
The salad should also be seasoned with mayonnaise.
Turkish potato salad
And yes, the Turks also eat potatoes. We already know! Since we ourselves have Turkish roots.
The simplest ingredients: boiled potatoes, eggs, a pinch of pepper, sumac, herbs, salt, vegetable fragrant oil. Pomegranate seeds for decoration.
Mustard potatoes or French potato salad
Popularly known as - "simple".
It couldn't be easier! Just boiled potatoes, onions and... mustard. Salt and pepper to taste. And such deliciousness!
