Garlic cakes

Saturday is baking time. And today - yeast dough cakes, which were presented to me under the name lango. If so, then this is a Hungarian national dish.

What is good about these cakes is that they are light and easy to make. The only thing that I changed a little from myself - after cheese and garlic oil are applied to the finished cakes, they should be warmed up in the oven or microwave for a couple of minutes. Because it turns out to be tastier (much).

We take:

For the test

  • 500 grams of flour (you may need a little more, depending on what kind of flour you have)
  • Yeast (according to the instructions on the package, the saf-moment is designed for 1 kg of flour a sachet, therefore, they are half a sachet)
  • 250 ml water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt

For "shaving"

  • 200 grams of grated hard cheese
  • 200 grams of cream cheese
  • 200 grams of sour cream
  • 2-4 cloves of garlic (depending on how much garlic you like)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Oil for frying tortillas - they should be deep-fried, so you need more.

How we cook:

First of all, stir the cream cheese and sour cream, season them with crushed garlic, salt and pepper to taste and send to infuse.

We start the dough: in a warm mixture of water and milk we dissolve yeast, a couple of tablespoons of flour from the total amount and sugar. When foam appears, add the rest of the flour, salt, knead until the dough stops sticking to your hands, and let it come up (enough once). The dough should not be very liquid, but not very dense either.

Heat oil in a frying pan or deep fryer. We form the cakes not by rolling, but, having greased our hands with oil, tear off a piece and form a cake with our hands - we need the middle to be thinner than the edges.

Deep-fry each one until golden.

Grease the cakes on top with garlic cream (a mixture of sour cream and cream cheese), and also sprinkle with grated hard cheese. And here it is better to warm them up so that the hard cheese also melts a little.

Sprinkle with herbs on top - but this is optional.

Bon Appetit!
