- How can you eat this penny muck, and even call a salad with it "crab"?
I came across this comment under a recipe in one of the channels, and to be honest, I tried for a long time to understand - what did the author want to say by that? Or show?
The fact that he doesn't eat sticks, but only crab meat?
In this case, I am very happy for him (for her, so then). I am always glad when someone, even a stranger, grows and rises in well-being.
That he (she, so and so) does not recognize imitation? Also has every right.
I just can't understand why to declare this with such aplomb? Moreover, even the owners of "refined" tastes with imitations in one way or another in their diet come across. And it is not by chance, but deliberately that they are acquired.
The same (maybe the same, of course) wasabi is not wasabi at all, but a mixture of horseradish, mustard, dyes and flavors. Because a natural product is very expensive in Japan, and it is extremely rare outside of it.
Or take tofu, for example. In theory, it is, of course, not a substitute, but a separate product - tofu. But for some reason, we consider it a substitute for cheese, and many are very proud of the fact that they use it exclusively.
And what about milk that is not milk? Well, yes, almond - it is made from almonds, almost an elite product. But there is soy and there is oat. You can reassure yourself that this is a product from the category of exceptionally healthy food, and is more expensive than primitive cow's milk, and even more so, milk based on milk powder.
Oh, I also remembered the "Scandi Valley". At the time of another spread ("Rama", if anyone has not forgotten), it was available in stores, and there were three types - classic fat content, light and ultra-light.
So this "Valley of Scandi" was used exclusively by well-to-do comrades for whom the oil extracted from an ordinary cow was no longer bontonous. Because, firstly, it was advertised as a product for "healthy eating" - especially ultralight. A. secondly, it was more expensive than normal butter!
You can still list such products for a long time, and, you know, against their background, crab sticks, which are made from fish, are far from the most malicious evil, and even more so, do not deserve the title of "muck" only for the fact that it is an imitation, which, by the way, is honest and write. Well, yes, they can be terrible in composition - but not everything depends on the manufacturer.
Well, yes, it would be more logical to call the salad not crab, but with crab sticks, but you know - in our country no one calls "asparagus" Korean "salad from soy foam, molded in the form of long ropes" ...
