Sand tartlets (baskets) are the basis for a huge variety of snacks on the festive table. Snacks in such baskets look elegant and very appetizing. You can also make a sweet filling and get a beautiful mini dessert. There are just a lot of applications for such baskets!
This easy recipe for tartlets is suitable even for beginner cooks. Shortbread tartlets according to this recipe come in crispy and have a neutral taste. They are perfect for both appetizers and desserts. They can be baked ahead of time and used as needed. Sand tartlets can be stored in a dry closed container for 1 month.

Ingredients:
- flour - 200 g
- butter - 125 g
- yolks - 2 pcs.
- powdered sugar - 1 tbsp. l.
- salt - 0.5 tsp. l.
Step by step recipe
1. First, knead the dough.
Put 125 g of butter at room temperature in a bowl. Pour 0.5 tsp to it. salt and 1 tbsp. l. powdered sugar. We beat everything with a mixer a little.
2. Add 2 yolks to the butter and beat everything again until smooth.
3. Pour 200 g of flour into the butter-egg mixture. Mix with a mixer.
We collect the dough with our hands in a ball and knead until smooth.
4. You should get a thick dough. If the dough is runny, add more flour.
Roll out the finished dough into a layer about 4 mm thick.
5. For baking tartlets, I will use metal molds with a diameter of 6 and 6.5 cm.
Cut out a circle in the dough with a cookie cutter. We put the same circle in the mold and evenly distribute it with our fingers along the bottom and walls. Metal molds do not need to be lubricated.
6. Gather the scraps of dough into a ball and re-roll. From this amount of dough, I got 30 tartlets.
7. We put the prepared molds with the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, and preferably for 1 hour. The dough should harden well so that the tartlets do not lose their shape during baking.
8. We rearrange the cooled baskets with dough on a baking sheet.
We put everything in a preheated to 180 degrees. oven. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes.
9. We let the baked tartlets cool in molds, and then we take them out. They come out very easily, no effort is required.
Tartlets are very tasty and tender. Since they have a neutral taste, they are suitable for both salty and sweet fillings.
If you want sweeter baskets, then add another 1 tbsp. powdered sugar.
