Tender and fragrant cabbage baked with juicy meat in the oven - just delicious! This dish is perfect for lunch or dinner. Cabbage cooked in this way in the oven comes out very tasty, soaked in meat juices. And the meat is tender and juicy. Buckwheat and mashed potatoes go well with such cabbage. And for dinner, this is already quite a satisfying and self-sufficient dish.

Ingredients:
- meat (pork) - 1 kg
- cabbage - 1/2 kg
- sauerkraut - 1/2 kg
- onion - 3 pcs.
- carrots - 1 pc.
- water - 1/2 cup
- dried marjoram - 1 tbsp. l.
- ground paprika - 1 tsp. l.
- salt - 1 tsp. l.
- ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp. l.
Step by step recipe
1. First, prepare the cabbage for baking. Finely chop half a kilogram of cabbage with a knife. Salt the chopped cabbage a little and crush it with your hands.
2. Cut one medium-sized onion into cubes.
Three carrots on a fine grater.
3. In a hot frying pan with a little vegetable oil, put the chopped onion. Saute until golden. Add the grated carrot to the onion. Stir and sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
4. At the very end, put chopped cabbage in the pan and add 0.5 kg of sauerkraut here. Sauerkraut, so that it is not so sour, can be washed with water and squeezed out with your hands. Mix everything and remove from heat.
5. Cooking meat.
Pour into a bowl for about 1 tsp. l. salt without a slide, 1 tsp ground sweet paprika, 1 tbsp. l. dried marjoram and add about 0.5 tsp. l. ground black pepper. We mix everything.
6. We take about a kilogram piece of meat, I have pork. We make transverse cuts without cutting to the end. Sprinkle meat evenly with spices. Rub the spices all over with your hands.
7. Cut two or three onions into rings.
Insert the onion rings into the cuts in the meat.
8. We take a baking dish and put the prepared cabbage into it. We evenly distribute it throughout the form.
On top, put the prepared meat with onions.
Pour about 0.5 cups of water over the cabbage. Water can be replaced with broth.
Cover everything with foil or a lid.
9. We put in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 1.5 hours.
We take out the prepared cabbage with meat from the oven. Carefully remove the foil so as not to burn yourself. The dish is served hot. Potatoes or buckwheat porridge are perfect for a side dish.
