Fried cabbage with tomato and wholemeal flaxseed

Ingredients: cabbage weighing no more than 1 kg, pureed tomatoes, frying oil, salt, pepper, carrots

I remove the top leaves from the head and chop on a thin knife. I take another knife and chop the carrots.

In a large bowl, sprinkle with salt and LIGHTLY! I knead with my hands so that the cabbage and carrots decrease slightly in volume. I spread it on a hot pan and immediately cover it with a lid, but not for a long time, as soon as I see that the lid is completely fogged up, I remove the lid and start to stir, I don’t leave the kitchen so that it doesn’t burn.

First, I take out the part for my husband and continue to fry, when the cabbage gets the color I need, I add the mashed tomatoes, put the bay leaf, salt and close the lid again. I lower the temperature from 7 to 5 and languish for 5-7 minutes. Very often I heard that they add a spoonful of flour. I do not add flour, but I add 1 tablespoon of wholemeal flour from flaxseed. It does not affect the taste, but adds nutritional value.

Imagine my surprise that my husband ate this cabbage with great pleasure, but for so long he did not want to eat with a tomato.
