The basis of the dish is a thin crispy bread cake, on which minced meat (mutton, less often beef), tomatoes and / or tomato sauce, bell pepper, onion, garlic, herbs, black pepper, oregano. Properly cooked lahmacun weighs approximately 150-170 grams.

Ingredients: For the dough:, Wheat flour, Milk, Sugar, Salt, Dry yeast, Vegetable oil, For toppings:, Minced meat, Tomatoes, Bulgarian pepper, Bulb onion, Salt, Pepper, Spices, herbs, Garlic, tomato paste

Cooking method:

Let's prepare the dough first. Sift flour into a container, add salt, sugar, yeast, mix. Add vegetable oil to warm milk. Pour milk with butter into flour, knead the dough. The dough should be soft, elastic, not sticky to the hands. Cover the dough with a lid or film and leave for 30-40 minutes while we prepare the filling.

Let's prepare the filling. I already have minced meat ready, so you don’t need to twist the meat. Since the dish is oriental, beef or lamb is used here. For those who eat pork, it can be done with pork. Grind vegetables together with tomato paste in a blender in mashed potatoes.

Add vegetables to minced meat, salt, pepper, add spices and herbs and mix very well. You should get a soft meat puree. We leave to rest for 15-20 minutes.

We heat up the oven. I use the "Pizza" mode (bottom heat + hot air) and bake at a temperature of 220℃. If there is no convection, then increase the temperature to 240-250℃. We divide the dough into 2 parts. Each part into 3 more parts. From each piece we form a ball and roll the dough into a thin cake with a diameter of 15-20 cm. Transfer the pastry onto a floured baking sheet. We apply / spread a thin layer of meat filling on the cake.

We send the cakes to the hot oven. We bake for about 15 minutes. Meat lahmacun is ready. Can be served with lemon, onion and parsley. Bon appetit and success in cooking!!!
