#games Krchik, a dish with such a funny name for the Russian language, is a traditional Armenian soup. And sauerkraut, which is used in the preparation of these dishes, makes it related to our usual cabbage soup. It is also cooked during fasting, without meat.
Ingredients: large onion, fresh peppers, sauerkraut, medium potatoes, wheat grits (Dzawar) or pearl barley, canned tomatoes (I replaced 2 tbsp. l. - tomato paste), vegetable oil, parsley, salt, hot pepper, water
Cooking method:
Soak pearl barley overnight. In the morning, we wash the cereals and send them to cook in a saucepan. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and pepper. Fry in vegetable oil. Squeeze the sauerkraut from the brine and also finely chop. As soon as the vegetables become soft, add cabbage to them. There's tomato paste. Add some water and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Preparing potatoes. We clean, cut it into a cube and send it to the pan, where barley is already half ready. We are waiting for the cereals and potatoes to be ready. Then add vegetables with cabbage. Krchik should be thick enough, it belongs to those types of dishes that are "two-in-one". That is, it replaces both the first and the second dish. Now add salt, k / m pepper and herbs to taste.
Bring to a boil, turn off the heat. Like Russian cabbage soup, krchik is better the next day, when all products are saturated with each other's taste and aroma. Cook with love and bon appetit!!!
