Who doesn't love salted mackerel? With potatoes and rye bread - well, how to refuse such yummy? Today I want to share with you an unusual recipe for salting mackerel. We need... an apple!
Cooking:
Gutted mackerel, wash, cut into pieces.
We mix salt and sugar, take HALF of this mixture and pour pieces of fish. We remove for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
We cut the onion in half rings, chop the apple - you can use straws, you can use small cubes. We take an apple sour or at least green.
Now we take out the mackerel from the refrigerator, drain the resulting liquid.
Pour oil into a frying pan, add coriander and pepper, warm up, but do not fry.
We take a jar or some other suitable container and lay out the mackerel, sprinkled with the remaining half of the salt and sugar. Also, between the pieces of fish you need to put onions and an apple.
Pour in oil, gently shake, or stir so that the oil, salt, sugar and spices are evenly distributed over the pieces of mackerel. We put it in the refrigerator.
After 6-7 hours, salted mackerel with onions and apples is ready. It remains only to cook potatoes! When serving, the apple can be removed, it is only needed to improve the taste of mackerel during salting.
The fish can be beautifully laid out on a plate, garnished with lemon, sprigs of greens, and additionally put onions (or pickled).
The taste of the fish is amazing. It's hard to put into words, you have to try it!
Bon appetit, my dears!
