I want to offer a simple recipe for millet porridge with pumpkin. Such an idea was born to somehow persuade the children (and not only) to the use of this "Queen of fruits". Useful properties of pumpkin publicly known, but the recipes with her much less than courgettes.
INGREDIENTS:
200 g of millet,
400ml milk
400 ml of water,
500 g of pumpkin
50 g of butter
½ tsp salt
2 tablespoons sugar
Recipe millet porridge with pumpkin
Millet should be cleaned.
Fill it with cold water and bring to boil.
A boiling water with millet drained through a screen and rinsed with cold water.
Return millet into a clean pot, add water and turn on the heating.
While there is hot water - cut pumpkin.
When the water boils, add the pumpkin and bring to a boil again.
Stir the millet with pumpkin.
Reduce the heat and leave for 10 minutes.
Add milk, salt, sugar and butter.
When cereal starts to boil - reduce the heat to a minimum.
Leave on for half an hour.
Do not forget from time to time to stir the porridge.
It will burn and then the taste will deteriorate.
Turn off heat.
Close the lid and leave for 5-10 minutes.
