When I butcher a chicken, I always strip it off and discard it. We don't eat it at all. Even a cat or a dog would not dare to give. In this article, I'll tell you why I do this (and advise you).
To begin with, I want to make an important clarification: we will only talk about the store chicken. The hens that are raised in the village are domesticated - they are completely different, they are kept and live in completely different conditions, so we are not talking about them. And about those that are grown in poultry farms, and then supplied to chain stores. This is the chicken that can be bought at any Pyaterochka, Magnet or Auchan.
So, as soon as I bring the chicken home, I usually cut it into pieces. By the way, about how I do this, I have a separate article on the channel, I will leave a link to it at the end - whoever is interested, go and read.
So, I remove the skin from the chicken. From all parts! And from the breast, and from the legs, and from the wings. To be honest, before I did not do this at all, as, probably, most people. But once, having watched some program where they talked about a store chicken, I no longer left my skin, and now I always take it off.
The thing is that chickens in poultry farms are constantly fed with antibiotics, because they often get sick, and sometimes even for prevention. So, these antibiotics accumulate in the skin, and not in the meat itself. Therefore, the skin must be removed, and the meat is quite suitable for cooking.
If I want to bake the whole chicken so that there is an appetizing skin crust, then I order chicken from friends from the village. I take 3-5 carcasses at once, freeze them whole. Yes, of course, homemade chicken is more expensive than store chicken, but it also tastes much better and healthier. I think you will agree with me.
Write in the comments, do you skin the store chicken or not? And in general, do you buy chickens in stores? It is interesting to know your opinion.
