Mom often cooked such cutlets at a time when we had to save on everything.
Someone recently wrote to me that "I ate these cutlets in the 90s and will never cook them again." But I, it turns out, did not eat enough)) I am cooking now!
So what if there is no meat in them. The main thing is that it's delicious! And by taste it is difficult to immediately determine what these cutlets are from. They are somewhat reminiscent of fish cakes. But the taste is very similar to meat!
How to cook:
Finely chop the onion. I don't use a blender or meat grinder. I don’t grate. I cut it with a knife.
Put the onion in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients.
I spread the resulting minced meat with a spoon in a pan with heated oil and fry on both sides until a beautiful golden brown crust.
I put the fried cutlets in a saucepan. I fill it with tomato dressing and simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat.
You can not add tomato dressing. Can be stewed with a little water and a spoonful of sour cream.
Or you may not put out at all. But then, in a frying pan, I steam the cutlets a little under the lid.
Recipe:
Onions - 0.5 kg
Garlic - 2-3 cloves
Semolina - 100g
Eggs - 2 pcs.
Tomato juice - 1.5 cups (you can use tomato paste)
Sunflower oil (for frying)
Ground black pepper
Salt
