A simple cake with an original design that children will especially appreciate. Herringbone cake is just the right thing to do on the eve of the New Year! 🎄

I took a puff pastry dough for such a cake, of course you can cook it yourself, but I bought it in the store (forgive me the super hostesses).

I rolled out one layer of dough 0.5 cm thick and using a knife cut out a "herringbone" as in the photo.

Further, the filling for which I took green onions and chopped it into as small as I had the patience.

The second ingredient is finely grated cheese. I take "Russian".

I mix the cheese and onions well and put it on the resulting herringbone from the dough.

I roll out the second layer of dough in the same 0.5 cm thickness and put it on top, cut it with a knife along the contour of the first layer of dough and pinch the edges a little.

With a knife I make symmetrical strips about 1.3 cm thick as in the photo.

Now I wrap each strip around its axis 3 times.

This is what I do with the whole pie. By this time, the oven needs to be preheated to 180 degrees. The cake should be lightly greased with yolk.

Now the pie is sent to the oven for 25-30 minutes.

The result is a delicious and satisfying tea cake, be sure to try it.
