"Back to the USSR" salad

Although I was born in the Soviet Union, I did not live so long during its existence and, unlike the majority of the population of that time, we lived well, since my dad was a submariner.
However, this simple and budget salad, I remember well, along with all sorts of goodies, it often appeared on our table.
A great dish when there is no time to invent something, but you want to eat.

Ingredients

  • 3 pcs potatoes
  • 3 pcs pickled cucumbers
  • 0.5 pcs onion
  • to taste salt, ground black pepper
  • 5 ml olive oil

Steps

Potatoes, wash them properly and send them to the pan.

Fill with cold water and set to cook.

After boiling, cook over medium heat until soft, but the potatoes should not fall apart in mashed potatoes - this is important.

When the potatoes are ready (pierced with a knife, but still dense), take out and set to cool.

It is important that we cook potatoes for this salad only in their uniforms, it turns out tastier, and dad always did that.

While the potatoes are cooling, we will deal with the rest of the ingredients. Peel the onion, wash and chop finely.

Cut off the ends of cucumbers and cut them a little larger, in medium pieces (potatoes and cucumbers should be cut about the same), after which we send them to a bowl to the onion.

The potatoes are cold, peel and cut into a medium cube, then to the rest of the ingredients.

Our salad is almost ready, add olive oil and black pepper, mix thoroughly and taste.

If there is not enough salt, you can add a little salt.

It is better to chill the salad before serving.
