Hello friends! Not so long ago I wrote an article on how to cook pasta correctly. It sparked an explosion of comments. In this article, I mentioned a family life hack - how to drain pasta without a colander.

Surely, someone already knows about this chip, but I discovered it for myself recently and want to share it with you.

How to drain pasta without a colander

It all started when my eldest daughter said that she would never have a colander in her house.

After you drain the pasta, the holes of the colander are clogged with dough and it is quite problematic to wash them later.

  • We began to think how we can do without it and an ordinary toothpick came to the rescue.
Common toothpick
  • When the pasta is ready, close the lid and insert a toothpick under it.
  • Press the lid firmly against the pot and drain the water.

That's all. You can try to move the lid a little without a toothpick, but it slips out, and with boiling water, jokes are bad.

Perhaps this idea will be useful to someone. My husband manages to drain the spaghetti and noodles this way. Vermicelli - alas, not yet.

Maybe you have some secrets of your own, write in the comments, share with subscribers.
