Today I will tell how to cook millet porridge in pots so that it turns out without bitterness and lumps. I started to cook millet porridge several years ago, but something always didn’t work out for me - there’s not enough liquid, and the cereal is still raw, it’s bitter or sticks together into lumps, then it’s generally burnt. Through a series of unsuccessful attempts, I was able to deduce perfect, for me personally, recipe, which I still use today.
1.150 grams of cereal pour boiling water and leave for 3 minutes, then we drain the water. We need this stage in order to remove the bitterness. The boiling water method is the most effective, over the past few years, it has never failed.
2. Pour boiling water into cereal, 50 ml hot water, cook for 20 minutes and salt to taste. Then we put the porridge in pots, it should be a little undercooked, put pieces of pumpkin on top, but you can do without it, I had it frozen. Add some more salt 3 tablespoons of water and
butter, millet porridge loves butter, so we do not regret it. Scroll the photo to the right. We put the pots in the preheated oven up to 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes. The porridge is ready! It can be served as a full-fledged side dish with meat or vegetables, it will also be very tasty just with milk. Add more oil to the plate.
