In today's article I want to tell what do the phrases "no soy", "poultry" actually mean and another similar trick often used by meat producers. I am sure that when they come to the store, most people, like me, see on products slogans written in large print. But few people think about what they really mean and make any sense at all other than marketing. Let's look at the example of meat products.

1. Soy Free. Personally, when I read this phrase, I think that this is a natural product. I.e there is definitely no soy, but there is natural meat! But unfortunately this is far from the case! This inscription means only one thing - instead of soybeans, the manufacturer added moisture-retaining components hazardous to health, so that the product absorbs water and gains weight.

2. "Poultry meat" - inspires confidence, doesn't it? But there can be no poultry meat in the sausage, they add only skin, tails and various trimmings.

Of course they may contain negligible percentage of meat which could not be separated, for example, from some ridge. Real poultry meat is more profitable to sell separately.

3. The last trick I want to talk about in this article is the inscription "mechanically deboned meat". Mechanical deboning means the presence of bones that have been turned into gruel under pressure. It has nothing to do with real meat! Be vigilant and do not see any marketing gimmicks! If you liked the article - press your thumbs up!
