Lower eyelashes: I tell you if you really need to dye them after 50 and older

Hello dear readers of my channel. Since I have received a lot of questions regarding the application of mascara on the eyelashes (and everything that concerns the eyelashes, including coloring between eyelashes, the choice of mascara and other things), then I decided to highlight the topic of the most asked question "is it necessary to paint the lower eyelashes".

Under my articles, where there are photos of women with dyed eyelashes, there are often discussions about whether to dye lower eyelashes. This topic is rather complicated, as there is no clear answer. Whether or not to dye the lower lashes depends on several factors:

  • fashion trends (do you want to match them);
  • makeup;
  • the shape of the eyes, their fit and age-related changes.

Fashion trends

I will consider each item separately. So, with regard to fashion trends, they are constantly changing. But if we talk specifically about the present tense, now the lack of mascara on the lower eyelashes is in vogue. But that's about daytime makeup.

Makeup

In daytime makeup, muted shades of shadows are used, mascara on the upper eyelashes is not infused in more than 1-2 layers, therefore, the absence of mascara on lower eyelashes look great, however, provided that the lower eyelid is slightly worked out with beige (or other barely noticeable natural shade) shadows.

In evening make-up, where darker or more saturated shades of shadow are used, and the upper eyelashes thickly dyed with mascara, the absence of mascara on the lower lashes looks strange (the effect of unfinished makeup).

Important: thickly colored upper eyelashes without even a slight highlighting of the lower eyelashes are anti-aesthetics.

Eye shape and fit, age-related changes

We smoothly approached the question of whether to dye lower eyelashes at an older age.

The photo shows how in the first case the lower cilia visually reduced the swelling of the lower eyelids. And in the second, the eyelashes are not dyed, since this is not necessary.

Since most women in their 50s and older use mostly neutral shades of eyeshadow in their daytime makeup (beige, light brown), paint over the eyelashes with one layer of mascara, then in this case, paint over the lower eyelashes need to. Remember that by painting over the lower eyelashes, you can visually lower the lower eyelid slightly.

Important: if you have dark circles under the eyes, "dips", then dyed lower eyelashes will only emphasize this feature (especially in a room where the light falls from above).

If you want to give your eyes a youthful look and at the same time do not emphasize the "flaws of the lower eyelid", then either remove the mascara from the ends of the lower eyelashes, or paint lower eyelashes only in the outer corners of the eyes, directing the eyelashes not down, but diagonally (the second option is applicable for women whose corners of the eyes are not lowered down).
