Another undeservedly forgotten and now spoiled Soviet product

Yesterday in the store I realized what is simply sorely lacking in refrigerated display cases

Processed sausage cheese.

Inexpensive, and most importantly delicious, it was one of the favorite cheeses of many... It used to be. At least during my childhood. Smoked sausage cheese, with caraway seeds or some other spices (more often, I remember, it was with caraway seeds) sounded great both on a morning sandwich, and solo - with a cup of sweet tea or coffee.

And now the sausage cheese looks like this, then I don't want to buy it. And the composition on the label is more like an excerpt from a chemistry textbook. No, it is understandable - the chemistry around us, the chemistry in us and even the most natural banana grown in the epicenter of the wild jungle is chemistry. Even without fertilizers.

However, the composition of the smoked sausage cheese is still scary. For some reason, it reminds me of the composition of washing powder (and why - I don't know, it just reminds me - that's all).

The funniest thing is that sausage cheese, even the "early" cheese, produced according to GOST and from natural products, is now customary to obfuk. A note caught my eye in which he was called "a cheese demon of the times of the USSR" and "a mutant that dishonored the cheese-making industry."

I really don't understand why.

Cheese making in Russia has never been a part of food or culinary culture. Before Peter the Great, they did not cook hard cheeses at all - more and more young ones, such as the modern Adyghe, did it. And therefore, to yearn for the fact that we did not have the production of Parmigiano Reggiano or something else is stupid. And in general, Parmesan is an Italian specialty, Russia has had its own for a long time (but we are not used to being proud of them).

And processed sausage cheese is not a delicacy.

This is a tasty and inexpensive product that everyone could afford. Yes, mass market. But it normal. There are not so many people who can afford to consume gourmet cheeses on a regular basis. And there are even fewer of those who enjoy such cheeses.

No, I do not argue, delicious cheeses are also needed.

But you shouldn't forget about tasty, cheap, and most importantly - high-quality products.

Sausage cheese is one of those. And now only that which is cheap is left of it.

Sorry.
