A simple recipe for a delicious compote from heavenly apples.

When I decided to get married, many new tasks fell on me. One of them is the organization of a feast.

My wife took over this business for the most part, and she asked me to think about desserts and drinks. At first I wanted to make my favorite lemonade. But then, when the future mother-in-law said that a lot of heavenly apples ripened for her and she wanted to give them to me, I realized that I would put them on the table.

From heavenly apples, a chic compote with an unusual taste is obtained. The guests liked the compote so much that some even asked to pick up the leftovers. A couple of years later, my mother-in-law again ripe apples, and now I want to share the recipe for this compote with you. I will not delay, let's cook!

Step-by-step recipe on how to make heavenly apples compote

Ingredients for a 3 liter jar:

  • Water 2.5 l
  • Paradise apples ~ 500 g (⅓ cans)
  • Sugar 300 g

Although I got apples from my mother-in-law's garden, I wash them thoroughly before cooking. I try to remove all the dirt as well as get rid of spoiled fruits.

This is important, since even one apple can spoil the whole batch of compote.

I pour the apples into the jar. I don't weigh them, I just make sure they fill the can by about one third.

If desired, you can cut branches from paradise apples. Although, in my opinion, they do not affect the taste, and it will take a lot of time.

I add sugar to the apples and pour boiling water to the brim. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved and leave to brew for 10-15 minutes.

Then I pour the syrup into a saucepan and put it on fire. Bring to a boil and pour back into the jar. I roll up the lid, turn the can over and put it in a cold oven until it cools completely (it takes me 10-12 hours to do this).

When the compote in the jars has completely cooled down, I put it in a dark place for storage. Let's show what I did.

The compote turned out to be amazing. It is too sweet in its pure form, so I dilute it with soda water and get lemonade. It tastes very similar to barberry soda.
