Recently I was visiting my friend Sasha. He is a bachelor and lives in a rented apartment. His kitchen is very simple, he doesn't even have an oven.

During the quarantine I found out about my blog and itched my hands to bake something. I even wanted to buy an oven, but then I decided to experiment and make a pie in a frying pan.

After several attempts I made an amazing charlotte with apples. It only takes five minutes to prepare the dough. Today I want to share his recipe with you.

Step-by-step recipe on how to cook apple pie charlotte without baking in the oven

  • Flour 150 g
  • Milk 150 g
  • Sugar 60 g
  • Vegetable oil 60 g (I used sunflower oil)
  • Apple 1 pc (medium size)
  • Egg 1 pc
  • Baking powder 8 g
  • Vanilla extract 1 tsp (or 10 g vanilla sugar)
  • A pinch of salt

First, I'll prepare the pan so that the cake doesn't burn. Grease it with butter and sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar.

I cut the apple into slices, a little thinner than a centimeter thick, and remove the core. If desired, the peel from the apples can be cut off, but this is not necessary: ​​after baking, it becomes soft and does not interfere.

Now I'm going to make the dough. It's simple with him.

I mix the sugar with the egg, then pour in the rest of the liquid ingredients in turn and mix until smooth each time.

You do not need to beat the egg with sugar. Simply stir with a whisk.

Sift flour with baking powder and mix until smooth. The dough is thick, but very fluid. It's time to “bake the pie”.

I put the apples on the bottom of the pan. Pour the dough on top.

I cover the pan with a lid and set it on fire, just below average, for 20 minutes. I have an induction cooker and I “bake” at a power of 3 out of 9.

Condensation will form on the lid during baking. To prevent water from getting on the cake, carefully remove the lid and wipe it with a towel.

After 20 minutes, the cake has risen and the surface is no longer sticky, but the color is very pale. So I turn the pie over and fry for 5 minutes until golden brown.

The pie is ready and can be served immediately. Although I like this cake better when it sits down a little and cools down.
