Bought an unusual tea that I had never tasted before. The taste surprised me.
Recently, I have almost stopped drinking regular tea. I began to like herbal preparations more and more. True, in our stores you can find only ivan tea and mint-based preparations.
So I started looking for herbal teas in online stores. Recently I found an unusual "tea" which is made from the bark of the ant tree. To be honest, I was surprised - I had never heard of such a tree. This tea was inexpensive, so I took the package for a sample. Let me show you what they brought me.
All information on the packaging is in English, since I ordered from an American site iHerb. There is a story about where this tea grows, but these are more advertising nice words. And I'm interested in the composition.
The composition of this tea is good. In addition to ground ant tree bark, the composition contains spices: ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and black pepper. It seems that the taste of the tree itself will not be possible to understand, but first I propose to look inside the bag.
Inside the bag is a mixture of spices and ground ant tree bark. It is impossible to figure out what is what. Tea smells very unusual. The aroma is strong enough, cloves and cardamom are clearly felt, but I did not feel cinnamon. It's time to brew and taste.
I poured boiling water over the tea bag and left it for 5 minutes. The water darkened slightly, but remained clear. The taste of the tea turned out to be very unusual: first, a bright clove, which also gives a sweet taste on the lips.
Ginger and pepper in the composition add spice to the hot tea and additionally warm it. True, cinnamon did not show itself here either. The combination of spices and their quantity is perfectly matched. Now such tea is very welcome, because it is cold and rain outside the window. It's time to tell you how much this tea costs.
This tea cost me $ 5, or 350 rubles, for a package of 24 bags. It turns out that one packet costs 14.5 rubles. As I already wrote, I bought this tea on the iherb website, here at this link. It's time to take stock.
I liked the tea. I wouldn't drink this every day, but as a means to keep warm - just right.
Have you tried ant tree bark tea?
