What Belgian sweets look like, which cost 4000 rubles per kilogram. Had to buy a box to find out. I share my opinion if they are worth the money.
I can't go without chocolate and chocolates for a long time. Every time I go shopping, I spend most of my time among the shelves with sweets.
I recently drove into a wholesale store to purchase products for a pastry shop and went to the candy section to see if there was anything new. And a lot of new things appeared, but this box stood out the most among new products.
A box of donuts was staring at me. At first I decided that I had accidentally wandered into the wrong department, but then I realized that I was wrong. These are candy, but they are made in the shape of donuts.
The first thing I noticed is the price - 899.90 rubles. I don't take 10 kopecks into account and round up to 900 rubles. And this price is only 225 g, which means that 1 kilogram costs exactly 4000 rubles. Let's show what a box of such expensive chocolates looks like.
The box stands out for its simple yet striking design. Made of plain cardboard, no transparent windows to show the product on the face. Each side depicts a woman in bright yellow glasses and the candies themselves. The composition is indicated on one of the sides. I wonder what is the composition of such expensive sweets?
In general, the composition is very good. But palm oil, which comes in third on the list of ingredients, spoils the impression. I didn’t think that the Belgian manufacturer would add palm oil at this price, but apparently they decided to save money. It's a pity, of course, but the candy attracted me with its appearance, so let's open the box.
Inside, everything is packed quite simply. The candies are packed in plastic containers and laid out with candy cardboard (I don't know what it's called). There are 3 trays of 4 donut candy in the box. They look attractive in images, it's time to take a look at them in reality.
In my opinion, in reality "donuts" look even better than on the packaging. Each candy has its own taste and unique design. Only 4 flavors: chocolate, caramel, vanilla and strawberry. Wondering how the cutaways look like candy?
Inside, each "donut" has a delicate cream that matches the taste of the candy. It's time to try.
But the taste disappointed me. When you buy such expensive candies, you unconsciously expect that it will be something incredible. But not at this time. The chocolates have a chocolate shell that melts in my hands even though I kept the chocolates cold. And after the test, the taste of palm oil remains in the mouth for a long time. I didn't like it. It's time to take stock.
Candy looks amazing and looks very similar to reduced donuts. But that's the only thing I liked. The taste of the "donuts" is lame, as it seems to me, just because of the palm oil. And if these candies cost 200-300 rubles per box, I would not pay attention to the composition. But the cost of this box is 900 rubles, and for that kind of money I want sweets without palm oil.
Would you buy such candies?
