For the first time in my life I tasted a cone dessert. I'll tell you what it consists of and whether it's worth that much money.
I never thought that you can make a dessert from the most ordinary pine cones. It never even crossed my mind. It turned out that cone jam is quite common in our country. But I don't have jam, but just cones on a wooden skewer.
I bought this unusual dessert at the fair, which took place during Maslenitsa. I bought it, brought it home and somehow all my hands, or rather my mouth, did not reach to try them. The cost of this dessert is 150 rubles for 4 cones weighing 20 grams.
When I bought it, I did not even think that a native Russian dessert made of cones costs 7,500 rubles per kilogram. Let's see what a dessert looks like at this price.
The cones are strung on a skewer and wrapped in a transparent film, tied with a ribbon on both sides. The packaging is comfortable, it can be seen, so to speak, the product is face. True, the dessert is fragile and in this form I was afraid to put it in a backpack, I had to carry it in my hands. There is a sticker with information about the dessert. I wonder what composition?
The composition is as simple as possible: pine cone, sugar and citric acid. Even the calorie content of cones is indicated as 329 kcal per 100 g. But they decided not to write the weight, so I had to weigh it myself. Each cone weighs 3-5 grams, and the whole package is 20. Let's take a closer look at them.
Close up, the bump is almost indistinguishable from the usual, except that it seems to be varnished. It seems to me that the cones were boiled in sugar syrup and then dried. It's time to try it.
If you tried to chew spruce or pine needles as a child, then the taste of the cones will not surprise you. I tried, so I immediately recognized the taste of pine needles and sugar in the taste.
As I assumed, the buds were simply covered with sugar syrup and dried. The outside is a little crispy, but the inside is soft and easy to chew. It's time to take stock.
The idea of making a dessert on a stick from pine cones surprised me. The taste, of course, is not for everybody, but I liked it, however, I won't eat a lot at a time. Such a dessert is just right to surprise foreigners or to pamper yourself occasionally, after all, the price is quite biting.
And what primordially Russian sweets have you tried, what did you like the most?
