What sweets do Russians like the most? This is usually difficult to determine, but now that everyone is rushing to stock up on food, it's easy to see it from the empty shelves in stores.

The other day I looked into the store and predictably found empty shelves where essential products usually lie. I do not give in to panic and do not stockpile, but I wondered what sweets were bought to survive the quarantine.

I imagined which sweets were taken apart for sure, but the lack of some products surprised me.

Biscuits

All the cookies sold out

I didn't find oatmeal cookies at all in the store. Even expensive foreign counterparts were swept away. The same thing with the Jubilee cookies, we could not find it. In general, almost all the cookies in the store were missing.

Waffles

Half-empty shelves with waffles

I did not expect that waffles are so popular with us that they will be sold out in the very first days. Only very expensive imported waffles remained on the shelves. In my presence, the worker laid out a couple of boxes of Kolomna waffles and after a couple of minutes they were gone.

Marshmallow, marshmallow and marmalade

Zephyr sold out to zero

But these products surprised me. I have never noticed that marshmallows are in great demand, but now the store shelves are empty. Moreover, inexpensive marshmallows can still be found, and expensive charmel were sold out clean.

Halva

Halva just a little bit

I love halva, but it seems not as much as everyone else. While walking around the store, several boxes were put on the shelf (seen in the photo) and after 5 minutes the shelf was empty again.

Gingerbread

Tula gingerbread, or rather their absence

I don't know why, but in the store where I was, Tula gingerbread was almost completely sold out. But here, most likely, the 50% discount played a role. True, I did not find other gingerbread in the windows, so we can say that we also love gingerbread.

Croissants

The lack of croissants surprised me

The lack of croissants surprised me. The finished croissants were completely sold out. I tried to look for frozen ones that still need to be baked, but they were also pulled away to zero.

Sweets that are not in demand

When I went to the store, I assumed that it would be very difficult to find chocolate, but I was very wrong. I didn't take a picture, but the shelves of chocolate were packed to capacity. Moreover, most of the chocolate was sold at discounts.

But no one touched sweets from the healthy lifestyle department

There were full shelves in the healthy lifestyle department. These products did not seem to have been touched. The only thing missing was green organic buckwheat. It was sold out, even despite the high price.
