There are things that you really want to buy, but the toad strangles. I share my selection of items for which I eventually forked out and did not regret it.
A friend of mine once told me “we are not rich enough to buy cheap”. Lately, I have been remembering this thought more and more before making a purchase.
Previously, I often focused on the lowest cost and bought super cheap bakeware, which was enough for 5-6 times and then the coating peeled off and had to be thrown out. I do not want to say that cheap = poor quality, and expensive = good, no - there is an exception everywhere. But more often than not, the cheaper the worse.
1. Stationary mixer: 30,000 rubles
I bought this mixer when I was just thinking about becoming a pastry chef. Then I did not understand what to pay attention to, but I understood that the thing should work flawlessly. And so it happened, the mixer is more than 5 years old, but it continues to work without breakdowns and does an excellent job with its tasks.
2. Coffee pot: 3800 rubles
I bought this coffee pot recently, but I already realized how cool it is. I used to use a French press with a glass flask, which I broke 3-4 times a year. When I calculated that in a couple of years I had spent about 2,000 rubles on flasks, I realized that it was time to change something. I licked my lips on this coffee pot for a long time, but the inner toad did not allow me to buy. When I figured that in the next 3-4 years I would spend another 2-3 thousand on flasks, I easily decided to buy.
3. Kitchen island: 38,000 rubles
I did not think about this purchase, because I immediately understood how necessary it was for me. The island itself was designed in the IKEA designer, but I decided to order the tabletop separately. As a result, the price of the countertop was more than a third of the cost of the entire structure. But it is unrealistically cool, and it is a pleasure to cook on it.
4. Immersion blender: 10,000 rubles
In my life I have used a huge number of different hand blenders. There were also cheap ones, which were enough for six months, at most a year. There were also dear ones who served me for 5-6 years. Recently my blender broke, which I have been using for about 5 years. Recently, he was junk and did not always cope with his task. I have been using the new blender for 3 months, but I don’t mind the money for it, it turned out to be very convenient.
5. Rack hairpin: 15,000 rubles
This rack is rarely used in home kitchens. But when I worked in the shops, I realized that I really need such a thing at home. I was immediately sure of its necessity, but the price of only one hairpin was 10,000 rubles, and baking trays in the amount of 12 pieces were also needed. I don't use the hairpin every day, but I still don't regret buying it.
And what are your "Wishlist" for which you feel sorry for the money?
