I am sharing an unusual recipe for cheese cakes. They have absolutely no cottage cheese and dairy products, but the taste is indistinguishable from real ones.
I love cheese cakes, but recently I realized that my stomach is not very good for dairy products. For some time I continued to eat them, even in spite of the consequences and, probably, I would have suffered, if not for my wife.
She decided to motivate me and argued with me that I could not make cheese cakes without cottage cheese. I will not tell you what they argued about, but the rates provoked me and I began to look for a solution to the problem.
To make the perfect one, I had to try several types of tofu. At first I bought Japanese tofu, as in the photo above, but it is very tender and the dough turns out to be thin.
The best cheesecakes I have turned out to be tofu with a rough texture. These can be found in most health food stores. It is much cheaper than the Japanese version, which is good news.
Step-by-step recipe on how to cook cheesecakes without cottage cheese
I send all the ingredients, except for the flour, to the bowl and punch with a blender until smooth.
Lemon juice is an essential ingredient in this recipe. I add it to give the tofu the texture and flavor of curd.
I add flour (can be replaced with starch) and mix. The base for the cheesecakes turned out to be thick and a little sticky.
I spread it on a floured surface and roll it into a sausage. I cut it into 12 parts and form a future cheesecake from each.
Fry on each side until golden brown. One portion of 4 cheesecakes took 4 minutes to cook. It's time to try it!
The cheesecakes turned out to be just right. I would never have guessed that these cheesecakes are without cottage cheese if I didn't know about it. The taste is distinctly banana, but if you don't like them, you can sweeten it with sugar or something else.
Ingredients:
- Tofu 300 g
- Bananas 2 small or 1 large
- Flour 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
- Any sweetener 1-2 tablespoons (I have maple syrup)
- A pinch of salt
